Meet Our Founders Here

Janvier and Jean-Jacques have been here since the founding of the company 12 years ago. And here they’re still, both in management of the company and in the operational roles alongside our teams.

They are currently and respectively, the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of the company.

As far as the day-to-day activities of the company are concerned, each of them focuses on managing the business units linked to their historical core competencies.

Executive Chairman
Janvier Régis HABIMANA speaks fluently French and English and has a working proficiency in Swahili and Arabic. He is the Co-Founder of Convergencium in 2012. He currently serves as the Executive Chairman of the company.

He’s a certified Commercial engineer (with a focus on International business development), owns a Master’s degree in Telecommunications (with a focus on Mobile telecommunications) and a Specialized Master’s in Technology (with a focus on Management of Technology projects).

He previously worked for big companies in various fields, including the Luxury industry (Louis Vuitton, Dior), the Nuclear Energy sector (EDF/ Framatome), Financial industry (for Société Générale and BNP Paribas), the Transport & Logistics sector (for SNCF within various divisions), the Water & Sanitation services (for Veolia Water), the Consulting Services sector (Orange Consulting and Devoteam Consulting in France) and in the Telecom operators such as Mobilis (in Algeria) and Rwandatel (now Liquid Telecom Rwanda).

Managing Director
Jean-Jacques MUTABARUKA speaks fluently French, English and Kinyarwanda and has a good knowledge of German. He is the Co-Founder of Convergencium in 2012. He currently serves as the Managing Director of the company.

He holds a master’s degree in finance & Strategy from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po Paris) and is a Specialist of automated financial data processing & financial modeling.

He previously worked as Trading analyst within the department of Equity derivatives & solutions at Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (one of the world leaders in financial derivatives industry) and has been visitor lecturer at many tertiary education institutions in Europe & Africa such as IESEG School of Management (Paris - France), Catholic University of Central Africa (Yaoundé - Cameroon) & INES (Ruhengeri - Rwanda) among many others.
